                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY
                   CLOSURE OF WASHINGTON STREET MORE
                   PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN ON SATURDAY,
                   JULY 18, 1992 FROM 3:00 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M.
                   FOR THE "POSS HOMES BARBEQUE AND STREET
                   PARTY" SPONSORED BY THE MAURICE POSS HOMES
                   RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION AND THE CHATTANOOGA
                   HOUSING AUTHORITY UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS.
                  
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
       	         BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby authorized 
the
       temporary closing of Washington Street between 25th Street and
       Poss Drive on Saturday, July 18, 1992 from 3:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. 

       for the presentation of the "Poss Homes Barbeque and Street 
Party"
       under the sponsorship of the Maurice Poss Homes Residents
       Association and the Chattanooga Housing Authority, provided that
       the sponsor shall provide, at all times, an access lane for
       emergency and residential vehicles.  The Public Works Department
       will deliver and pick up the traffic control devices.  The 
sponsor
       is responsible for maintaining the traffic control devices during 

       the event.
